Q: How old are your staff members?

A: Camp Liberty staff members are a minimum of 17 years old before the start of camp, however the majority of our staff members are between the ages of 19 and 24. All of our activity and unit directors are 21 years old or older.

Q: What is your policy regarding parents visiting?

A: Parents may visit the camp anytime during the day, while camp is in session.  We encourage parents to visit on the last day of each session to watch the camp play, which showcases many of the campers and staff.

Q: Does my child need to bring any special equipment with them to camp?

A: All that's required is a desire to have fun and make new friends!  Camp Liberty offers a variety of activities on a daily basis.  Any equipment for sports or art is supplied by Camp Liberty.

Q: What clothing should my child wear?

A: Anything you wouldn't mind getting a little dirty (they are outdoors most of the day).  Sneakers are preferred so that they may play without worrying about exposed feet.  We ask that you label every article of clothing they wear and bring to Camp Liberty.  Just take a permanent marker and write their name or initials on the tag of their clothing, towels, sneakers, etc.

Q: Can my child wear their swimsuit underneath their clothing?

A: No, we ask that you pack their swimsuit and towel in a bag or backpack.  For sanitary reasons, we have the children change in dressing areas and shower before they enter the pool.

Q: Do you accept children under the age of 6?

A: No, your child must turn 6 years of age by the time they start camp.  In the past, we have allowed children whose birthdays fall at the end of camp or early fall, but we had many instances of children not being able to follow directions.

Q: I'm going away on a vacation and can only use 1 week of camp, instead of the full 2 weeks.  Can I split the session?

A: No, sessions cannot be split.  Spaces are limited and it would be difficult and unfair to have another child that is willing to come to Camp Liberty only be able to attend for 1 week to fill your child's space.

Q: Can my child bring any toys or other valuables?

A: No, Camp Liberty is a very active place, and it would be very easy for your child to misplace or lose their toy/valuable.  Camp Liberty can not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Q: I registered my child for the first session, and I would like to add them to the next session.  What do I need to do?

A: Contact the registar for assistance.  Camp Liberty has 175 spaces available for each session.  Once the spaces are filled, a waiting list is generated for each session.  As spaces become available, we notify the parents on the ordered list.  If you are able to receive another session, the application will be updated (no change fee will be applied) and you will receive confirmation through email and usps mail.
